Sean brings over 15 years of communications experience, and a lifetime of disability advocacy, to his role as Director of Communications at New Disabled South. His career began at age 16, writing freelance music reviews while juggling life on the road in a rock band. A lifelong writer and a songwriter since age 11, Sean’s journey towards becoming a Comms professional came from a strong desire to hone his passion for voice, tone, and the written word into a career.

Alongside his music career, Sean worked in communications in many different areas, including media outreach, securing placements in publications like Forbes and USA Today, press and public relations, and social media marketing.  Sean worked for several years as the Arts & Entertainment Editor for a local alt-weekly newspaper in Savannah, Ga, before leaving the publication and launching The Savannahian, a nonprofit digital alt-weekly where he serves as co-founding editor. Sean also runs the Savannahian Podcast Network, producing and managing several shows on the platform. Most recently, Sean worked as Social Media Manager for 18Doors, a Jewish-interfaith nonprofit, where he expanded his communications experience to audience growth and engagement.

Sean was born a triplet with Cerebral Palsy, and at the age of five began speaking to high school students—alongside his brother, Dom—about disability and disability awareness. When he’s not working, Sean loves spending his time with his wife, Kennedy, and their two children, Autumn and Rowan. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, scoring independent films and writing commercial music from his home in Savannah.
