With deep roots in community activism and social justice, Lisa has an extensive leadership career spanning over 25 years in the non-profit sector. Lisa has served in multiple executive positions including Director of External Affairs and Operations for FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, and Senior Director of Patient and Public Engagement with the Biden Cancer Initiative (BCI). Lisa currently serves as the Executive Director of the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts. the only independent, non-profit organization providing holistic, innovative health services in Washington, DC.   Founded in 1996, Smith Center’s mission is to develop and promote healing practices that explore physical, emotional, and mental wellness and lead to life-affirming changes for those affected by cancer.   Lisa has dedicated her career to improving the lives of cancer patients and healing the community of those suffering with disease.

Lisa serves on the Board of Directors of the Microbiome Alliance for Disease Prevention, National Organization for Arts in Health (NOAH) and Commonweal.
